Yacht Club Ball
Knight Music plays each year for the Boca Grande Pass Yacht Club's Commodore's Ball.
The event is held at the Gasparilla Inn Beach Club on Boca Grande, an island north of Naples on the Florida Gulf Coast.
At the 2010 event, guests enjoyed Ted's jazz quintet for cocktails on the patio, with the sound of surf in the background.
Inside, the full band played smooth sounds for dinner, songs like The Look of Love and The Girl From Ipanema. Past Commodore Bob Lambrecht is pictured welcoming guests, and thanking Ted for his music.
Then
it was time for dancing. Tom Willis sang Soul Man, Jump Jive 'n'
Wail, and a bluesy At Last. Ted did Old
Time Rock and Roll, and remembered the swing dancers with Glenn Miller's String of
Pearls.
Knight Music has played for the Commodore's Ball each year since 2005, when the club found the group by Internet search. Ted's band is booked to play for the ball again in 2011.
