Corporate
clients confident in Knight Music
Mutual of America, a billion-dollar New York insurance firm, engages Ted Knight's music whenever they come to Florida.
Ted's band has played for the company at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, the Boca Raton Resort, and the Ritz-Carlton Hotels in Naples and Palm Beach.
Ted is pictured with now-retired chairman Bill Flynn during a cocktail party at their finance office in Boca Raton, Florida. Tom Moran, who succeeded Flynn as CEO, is joined by other top executives who express their appreciation for the music that makes their sales conferences and incentive trips so much more enjoyable. It's an eclectic mix that can include New York State of Mind and Soul Man as well as jazz like Polka Dots and Moonbeams.
When New York-based TrustCo Bank planned the grand opening of a their first branch in Palm Beach County, they hired Ted Knight and the Dixie Ramblers to create a festive mood.
The Ramblers played happy Dixieland jazz like Tiger Rag and Yankee Doodle Dandy as customers enjoyed refreshments and free T-shirts and coffee mugs, and learned about the bank's services.
Executives
arriving for the grand opening of their new Juno Beach branch were
welcomed by the band's rousing version of When the Saints Go
Marching In.
After the customers had gone, the bank president half-jokingly asked if the band could play Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. Ted and drummer Larry Ruda were glad to oblige, thundering away while trumpet player Bunny Carfagno looked on in amazement.
A good time was had by all, and plans were launched for Knight Music to play more branch openings around Florida.
