Big
band sound
The Ted Knight Orchestra is a Florida wedding and party band with four horns and a big band sound.
The mix is based on jazz, blues and standards but can include as much pop and rock as needed. The band includes trumpet, trombone, two saxes, keyboard, bass, drums and guitar. Music is played by real instruments in real time, without the use of recorded backgrounds.
Ted Knight sings from his keyboard, and additional vocalists such as Evelyn Russell and Tom Willis can be added. The group is self-contained, with a quality sound system. Vibes, percussion and stage lighting are also available. Hear demos.
Big band weddings and dances
Ted's orchestra has played for weddings, dances, balls and galas at venues such as Sanibel Harbor Resort, the Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, and the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo. Read The Orchestra News to learn more.
Thanks
to Ted's network of musicians in strategic locations like Tampa,
Jacksonville and Atlanta, the band is affordable throughout the
southeastern U.S. See the map for details.
Ted prepares custom mixes for each engagement, and requests are a specialty. Brides and grooms planning a big band wedding can enjoy jazz from Sinatra, Ellington and Basie but also rock, R&B, Motown, and variety. See the song list and hear demos.
