Wedding
at Sanibel
It was at Liberty University in Virginia that Cody, the son of an Ohio minister, would meet Larae, a sweet girl from Ft. Myers, Florida, the love of his life.
When Cody and LaRae planned their wedding at Sanibel Harbor Resort, north of Naples on Florida's Gulf Coast, they didn't want just any old wedding band.
Strong in their Christian faith, they wanted music with class, but fun and not stuffy at all. The Ted Knight Orchestra turned out to be exactly what they were looking for. The eight-piece band was booked for a Saturday in June, to play for two hundred guests in the resort's gorgeous Caloosa Ballroom.
Music for dinner included a medley of Henry Mancini tunes and a smolderingly funky Let's Get It On featuring saxophone soloist Paul Magersuppe.
For the first dance, Ted sang The Luckiest by the Ben Folds Five. Other special songs included Home by Michael Bublé and Butterfly Kisses for the bride's dance with her father.
Ted
did I Just Called to Say I Love You, Old Time Rock and Roll,
and the R&B classic
Choo Choo Ch'Boogie.
David Pate contributed a fine tenor sax solo on Fly Me to the Moon.
Trumpet player Brad Turner was featured on Boogie Woogie Bugle
Boy and on the Beach Boys' God Only Knows.
When Evelyn Russell
sang Son of a Preacher
Man, the song went perfectly with the joyous mood. On band breaks,
Ted played some of Cody's Christian rock favorites on iPod.

Cody and Ted enjoyed planning the music together by phone and email. The happy result was that the band played just the kind of songs that he and his bride wanted.
