Big band sound
The World's Smallest Big Band is a compact and
affordable group that gets a big band sound with just two horns.
Music is played by real instruments in real time, without the
recorded backgrounds known as sequences.
The band
starts as a quartet with trumpet, sax
and drums along with
Ted Knight's keyboard and vocals.
Available options include bass, guitar,
vibes, and vocalists
such as Evelyn Russell. Stage lighting is
available when needed.
Jazz, pop
and variety
The repertoire starts with jazz and standards but can also include as much pop
and rock
as needed.
The band plays the same arrangements as Ted's orchestra, scaled for two horns instead of
four.

Weddings
Read about weddings the band has played in Tampa, Jupiter,
and Marco Island.
At right, Ted sings at his own daughter's wedding while saxophonist
Paul Magersuppe leads the group. See more pictures on the
Virtual Wedding Tour.
Country
club dances
The band plays
for dances several times each year at the Delray Beach Club, where members
enjoy their rock and disco numbers as well as the big band standards.
They
played at Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club in Boca Raton in April 2006 and
are booked to return. They're playing again for New Year's Eve this year at the Little Club in Gulf Stream. |
